M-Pulse Fiber is a subsidiary of Monroe County Electric Power Association, an electric cooperative which has delivered electricity to its members since 1936.  Monroe County Electric Power Association was the first rural cooperative in the nation to energize lines financed by the Rural Electrification Administration (REA).
